Decision—Specific Uncertainties and Scenarios
Introduction
So, by now we have looked at why uncertainty is such a problem and how it can be dissolved by looking at the challenges of the Ukraine invasion, COVID-19 (via online), and getting a taste of scenarios with the Shell process (in Chapter 1). We then considered concepts for conceiving of the journey through time with the arrow of time in Chapter 2. In that same chapter, we considered what tools could help us to get out of the uncertainty fog such as the uncertainty grid. We then went much deeper into the nature and the root causes of uncertainty with examples and reader exercises. We then went through a stage-by-stage a process very similar to the Shell model.
