3 Designing structured inclusive interaction practices
This chapter delves into the workgroup and organizational practices for fostering positive, meaningful, inclusive interactions among members of diverse workgroups to produce equity and high performance. Figure 3.1 indicates where the interaction practices fall within the Framework for Inclusive Interactions. The six structured inclusive interaction practices shown in Figure 2.2 in Chapter 2 are: (1) pursuing a shared task orientation or mission, (2) mixing the members frequently and repeatedly, (3) collaborating with member interdependence, (4) handling conflict constructively, (5) engaging in interpersonal comfort and self-efficacy, and (6) ensuring equal insider status for all members. ...
