Chapter 13. The Einstein 1 Platform and the Zero Copy Partner Network
In Chapter 3, we discussed how Data Cloud works its magic and the key value activities that can be leveraged by Data Cloud users (see Figure 13-1). We’ve previously explored several key value activities listed in that chapter. In Chapter 7, we reviewed how to build a unified consent repository using the standard Salesforce Consent Data Model. Enrichments, data actions, Data Cloud–triggered flows, and ways to programmatically extract data were explored in Chapter 11. More recently, we discussed segment activation in detail in Chapter 12.
In this chapter, we’ll be exploring the six remaining Data Cloud key value business activities. The most important thing we’ll learn in this chapter is that the Salesforce Data Cloud platform has an important place in an organization’s Predictive AI and GenAI strategy. We won’t be covering AI strategy or LLMs in detail, but there are plenty of resources available to help inform you about those topics. Prompt Engineering for LLMs, by John Berryman and Albert Ziegler (O’Reilly, forthcoming), and Prompt Engineering for Generative AI, by James Phoenix and Mike Taylor (O’Reilly, 2024), are two technical books focused on important GenAI topics. Martin Kihn’s new book, Customer 360: How Data, AI, and Trust Change Everything, is also an excellent resource if you want to understand how to connect AI technology, people, processes, and strategy.
