Chapter 11. Consuming and Taking Action with Data Cloud Data

We’re at an exciting point because all the hard work we’ve done up until now has been to lay the foundation for extracting value from Data Cloud (Figure 11-1). Data Cloud is deeply integrated with everything in the Salesforce platform, which means all your Salesforce applications can leverage the harmonized and unified data that exists within Data Cloud.

You’re therefore able to surface Data Cloud insights back into Sales Cloud and Service Cloud applications for your end users. Your marketers can use Data Cloud unified profiles to build meaningful segments and create more relevant and personalized interactions with your customers, and Data Cloud also offers a secure entry into GenAI. Of course, accelerating the time to value with Data Cloud requires building a solid foundation upon which to extract value.

We first saw the diagram in Figure 11-1 in Chapter 3, and as we’ve progressed in our efforts to build a solid foundation, we’ve accomplished each of these necessary steps. We set up our data connectors and created data streams to ingest data into Data Cloud, we modeled our data and created necessary data transformations, and after mapping the data, we completed the identity resolution process. As a result, we now have a 360-degree view of our individuals and accounts from a variety of internal and external data sources.
