ommision of the word 'the' in the last sentence.

"In the process, we'll also show we can bust every one of ... rules just described, and have a blast doing so." (... is where 'the' needs to be :))

What is described is the opposite of what is shown. The line being talked about is the 5th line of code (0 0 255) and with reference to that it is stated "What follows, then, for the ASCII-formatted data, is a set of RGB values in RGB order, with each value separated by a space." (pwd~> so far so good) "In this example each color is separated by a carriage return, but they could all be on the same line."

The *are* listed on the same line, separated by spaces.

Note from the Author or Editor:
In this example each color is separated by a space, but they could have been separated by a line break.

Second code example, line 1.

There's an extra space between y and ="10".

Doesn't really hurt, but...

Thanks for the high quality of your books.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Page 252, middle of page, second line of code has an extra space between y and ="10".

code example 7-5 (continued)

After the closing text label shouldn't there be a <desc></desc>?

Note from the Author or Editor:
This was a minor technical error, but not the one referenced in the errata.

All of the desc elements should be removed from this example, and consolidated into one desc element at the beginning. Though repeated use of the desc element does not generate an error, only one desc element should be used within an SVG container. Example at http://realtech.burningbird.net/ptwexamples/ch07-05.svg shows correction.

1st paragraph of new section

The last sentence is repeted twice:

"Opacity can be a great way to indicate whether somethingis applicable-whether a button is active or a link can be clicked, for example"

Both sentences say the same thing, even though worded differently. I though it was time to go to bed when thought I kept skipping lines or was having some sort of dejavu :)

Note from the Author or Editor:
Remove second redundant sentence

"Painting The Web strikes a perfect balance between aid for the graphically impaired and meat for the graphically inclined. This will *not* be a book I loan out to others, as I want to make sure it's around when I need it."
