2.5 COMMON HTML TAGS
We have seen that HTML is written in the form of tags and attributes that the browser interprets and renders the display. There are a number of tags that browsers recognize. In practice, the term tag is used interchangeably with the term element and the two terms are indeed used synonymously. However, there is a subtle difference that needs to be recognized. It is highlighted by the following statement—an element contains a start tag and an end tag. The most common ones are summarized by function in Figure 2.7.
