Many of the challenges identified by venture capitalist (VCs) and business angels (BAs) in emerging Asia are related to the developing status of the VC industry in both Southeast Asia and China, which, compared to the United States and Western Europe, as explained in Chapter 1 is young and undeveloped. By comparing the research on VC and BA investing challenges to the general characteristics of both developed country VCs and emerging country VCs listed in Table 7.1, similarities and differences are evident.
