A two-dimensional area defined by the outline of an object.

Natural or organic shapes are those that are inspired by or are found in nature—leaves, flora, clouds, rivers and ocean waves, and landscapes. Objects that are inspired by nature, or include nature itself, provide a softness and calming feel in a space.

Geometric shapes are mathematically defined, and contain measured areas and sizes. These elements are made from the base geometry of squares, triangles, rectangles, circles, and various “-gons” and “-grams.”
