The word geometry comes from the ancient Greek root words geo meaning earth and metron, meaning measurement, and is one of the oldest branches of mathematics. As applied to interior design, it is primarily concerned with the properties of space related to distance, shape, size, and position of objects or figures. Geometry also has similar connections with art, architecture, and graphic design.
