Setting up an account on the site is easy, but it takes a lot more time than most social networking sites (see Figure 8-1). This is because you enter a lot of your past and current work experience, but doing so can have a higher return for the business professional.

After completing the fields with your first name, last name, email, and password, LinkedIn asks you for professional information to start building your profile.

LinkedIn makes it easy to add and update your information. (See Figure 8-2.) You simply click the Add button and complete the fields. Another way the site makes it easy is if you have a completed resume, you can import it into LinkedIn and make any corrections as needed.
