Persistence-of-Vision Display
Persistence-of-vision (POV) displays are readily available as novelty toys, but buying one ready-made is nowhere near as much fun as making one for yourself. Figure 1-1 shows the effect you get when you wave the display about vigorously. This POV display also has the advantage that you can program the message that it displays from your computer.
