Your First Sounding Board

While your business idea is still barely a fetus, the use of a sounding board is a great way to gain an independent, third-party take on what has been dominating your every thought.

It is you delivering a brain dump to a select and respected listener, preferably someone with a business or entrepreneurial background. Caution must be exercised in not choosing someone who may deliver skewed advice, and that includes close friends who may be jealous or your mom and dad who may still see you as the youngster sheepishly bringing home that first report card. Get some neutrality.
