• Select a consultant based on expertise, not just experience. A prospective consultant might have spent his or her whole career in your industry doing merely average work. Is that really someone you want on your team?
• Assess personality, style, and overall fit, not just credentials and track record. For example, a brilliant Ivy-league MBA with impeccable Fortune 500 references might have a very hard time making profitable changes in a tightly controlled family business environment. ...
