A Coach Is Deliberate and Prepared
It takes a deliberate effort to be an effective coach. And this deliberate effort has its optimal effect when you take the time to prepare.
To be deliberate and prepared:
1. Understand the reasons for coaching and have clear goals for the employee’s development.
2. Take the time to plan how to approach the employee.
3. Keep a written record.
