Intrapersonal processing—exploring, understanding and acting—describes the processes for all human growth and development. As helpers, our goal is to facilitate this process. Ultimately the goal of helping is to empower our helpees to explore, understand and act effectively without our help. All human growth and development involves a continual recycling of “processing—transforming human experience into human actions for human purposes—in an expanding spiral of human growth.
