The model we covered in Chapter 3 describes the general approach to sustainable quality. We start by building a culture of quality as the foundation for sustained change. Then we clearly define our vision, goals, and measurements. Then we use the tools and methods to develop and implement the improvements.

But to achieve “sustainable quality,” it requires continuous improvement, which means continuous reevaluation. The new model provides an approach for a companywide transformation, often triggered by a significant change.
