SAP File System

During SAP installation, the SAP kernel is extracted and system profile files are written out at the operating system level. Table 20-8 lists the SAP file system that is created as part of a standard SAP install along with a brief description. The global transport directory is generally customized as /usr/sap/trans<SID> and is mounted on all the systems belonging to the same transport group so that the data and cofiles are available for import into any of the target systems.
