10 Using Metrics for Global Initiatives and Modern Management Systems Standards
CEOs are beginning to realize that there is a new generation of workers entering the workplace with different values than their parents or grandparents generation. They want more than a place of work. They want to work in an organization that they can associate with as more than an employer. They do not want to be an employee number. They want to be part of an organizational family. A family that cares about the environment, the quality of life, including the safety of the workplace. It is these latter qualities that will retain employees as much as a paycheck. CEOs will have to decide on metrics that reflect these values in their annual reports.
