We have already established that, as a profession, we have a mission to address the risks to the things we hold of value. Because our ongoing theme is that we manage what we measure, we must establish a metric that measures the impact of that risk and the cost of any loss we might incur to what we value. So what metric does that best? Why not the metric used for the very cost we incur in a loss. The dollar sign. As a metric, there is no confusion using a dollar as a measurement.
