Before we proceed any further, I believe it is important to understand some basic history on safety statistics and measurements in order to understand how we got to where we are currently.
In majority of the safety presentations I conduct, I always attempt to include a “history” lesson in the topic matter. Why? Because we are a profession of historians. At least if we approach our field wisely, we should think of ourselves as historians.
