System and Software Development Process Improvement
Synopsis
Chapter 2 introduced generic process improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma and Enterprise Knowledge Development. In this chapter we focus on the application of these methodologies to continuous process improvement for systems and software development. Specifically, we present a full methodology for assessing and prioritizing improvement projects; describe how such projects are managed, including a description of roles and responsibilities; and conclude with a section on After Action Reviews for mapping lessons learned from current improvement projects for the benefit of future organizational improvements.
