2.7. Single-Phase Half-Wave Diode Rectifier With Resistive Load

For the circuit shown in Fig. 2.11(a), when the switch S is closed during the positive half-cycle of the input voltage, the diode which is forward biased will go to the conduction state connecting the input source to the load. During this state according to Fig. 2.11(b), the following equations hold:
