Execute

6.1 An Overview

At this point, you, your team, and other key stakeholders should support the vision described in your Situation-Target-Proposal (S-T-P). It is now time to turn the new or revised vision into reality by performing the next action, Execute, shown in Figure 6.1.

The key is to implement solid project management concepts, tools, techniques, and methods to execute the project. In all likelihood, many of them were ineffectively implemented or missing in the first place, contributing to the current deplorable state of affairs.

Execute requires performing five fundamental activities as shown in Figure 6.2. These are
