Assessing Health Risks

In the case of potential health risks, you might find some issues that need an expert to identify the exact level of hazard present, and the potential severity of the harm it could cause. For example, to measure noise levels or air quality.

The process you follow here is similar to that in the previous section on “Assessing Safety Risks” where you considered:

1. Who could be harmed;

2. The severity of that harm;

3. The likelihood that it will occur.

Use the same format as Risk Table 1 to assess health risks, thinking about where the potential risk fits in the table. Use Checklist 11 in the same way as Checklist 8, adding details in the relevant columns.
