The First Rule of Project Management

Remember this as your first rule toward developing a successful program, and not just a KM program but any program—without upper management support, you will inevitably fail. Period. You may have developed a stellar foundation for KM and be sitting on a goldmine of helpful lessons learned and fascinating case studies, but without stakeholder and champion support, your hard work and enthusiasm will be doomed, and to make things even worse, once your KM program fails, it will be seen in the same light as other failed programs in the project management dustbin.
