Eugenio Iannone earned the Italian Laurea degree in engineering (classical version) from Rome University “La Sapienza,” Rome, Italy, in 1984.
He was a researcher in Fondazione Ugo Bordoni until 1997, and was engaged in developing new fields in optical communications to which he made relevant contributions. From 1997 to 2009 he joined Pirelli and subsequently worked at Cisco as a research leader in optical communications and as a product management leader.
