Installing Joomla!
You've developed your strategy and site map, bought a domain name or two, and chosen your web host. Finally, it's time to get down to the business of building the website for Fictitious Elementary! The first step, of course, is to get Joomla installed so you can start building.
In all likelihood, to install Joomla, you'll need to log into the control panel on your website. I am using Rochen's Business Hosting Plan 1 to build this website, which comes with cPanel. cPanel is an open-source control panel available through many web hosts.
Once you've signed up for a hosting plan, the hosting company should send you an e-mail that specifies the address for your control panel and the login you'll need to access it. Go to that address (which varies according to which host you've chosen, and may vary within the same host), and you should see a login screen like the one shown in Figure 4-1.
You may also see the login pop up as a separate window, depending on which host you're using. Enter the username and password as provided by your web host for the control panel.
Once you've logged in, a welcome window and the control panel appear, as shown in Figure 4-2.
