Chapter 4. IPv6 Address Types
This chapter further examines the three types of IPv6 addresses that were introduced in Chapter 3, “IPv6 Addressing:”
• Unicast
• Multicast
• Anycast
Figure 4-1 diagrams the three types of addresses in more detail. This chapter begins with unicast addresses. Don’t be intimidated by all the different types of unicast addresses. The most significant are global unicast addresses, which were introduced in Chapter 3. They are equivalent to IPv4 public addresses, and much of this chapter is dedicated to learning the different ways to configure a global unicast address.
