In Figure 2.1 Daryl Conner gives some good advice. I have worked on hundreds of different consulting engagements implementing total quality management (TQM), business process improvement, organization alignment, project management, organization restructuring, and Six Sigma, with some marvelous success in each of these methodologies. I also had miserable failures. Basically these were always implemented in about the same fashion. They all had training and management support initially; all they needed was to have a project to apply the methodology to.
