Chapter 70. Paragraph Rules
Paragraph rules are a paragraph attribute which places lines above, below, and sometimes through the text of a paragraph. The way they are implemented is very similar in QuarkXPress and InDesign, yet there are some subtle differences which can affect the way they are used.
Setting Appearance
In both programs, you can add a paragraph rule using a dialog box or in a paragraph style. In InDesign, select one or more paragraphs with the Type tool, and then choose Paragraph Rule from the Paragraph palette’s flyout menu (or press Command-Option-J/Ctrl-Alt-J).
