9Agreeableness and conscientiousness in combination
The second pairing of Big Five dimensions which is worthwhile noting is the combination of conscientiousness and agreeableness. The pairing is represented diagrammatically (Figure 9.1) with labels for each of the four quadrants.1
It will be remembered that our average manager was in the bottom 25 per cent of the population for agreeableness and in the top 30 per cent (high average) for conscientiousness.2, 3 This would place such a person squarely in the ‘Stern’ quadrant.
