Events cancelled and for a short time in March organizers nervously jockeyed for alternative event dates in the late summer or fall. Meanwhile hotel occupancy dropped precipitously. The research firm and consultancy, HVS, has projected that if the current level of RevPARs firm continues throughout April, RevPARs will reach $15.61 from a pre-crisis level of $116.97, an 86.7% decline from the prior year.
