Adaptive structuration (Chapter 5)
A theory that focuses on how organizations and groups utilize technology, focusing on the structures of the technology and the way users appropriate those structures.
Ad-hoc emergency teams (Chapter 22)
(also called action teams) They are temporary groups of experts, often from different disciplines. Formed to rapidly respond to specific emergency situations, such as a cardiac arrest.
Affordance (Chapter 21)
An affordance involves the way a technology is perceived and used by people. It involves the potential for action users perceive in a technology.
