New Al Gourna Village, Luxor, Egypt—Architect Hassan Fathy and the Story of the Doomed Domed Mud Palaces

It’s 1946 AD in Luxor, Egypt.

A royal decree is issued to relocate Al Gourna village resting atop a major pharaonic archeological site. Hassan Fathy took over the mission and built a great new village. The universe loved the new village, and nature celebrated the birth of Green Architecture. All good and fine, however, a big surprise was waiting for Hassan Fathy.
