  • Customizing what the start page includes

  • Managing your start page's content

  • Taking your start page online

All Web sites have a home page, where the browsing of a site begins and the initial information about the site is housed. A corporate start page is similar in function, but it's customized with information and color schemes for members of your domain. Your coworkers and employees use this page to get an instant view of what's going on in the company and also access features such as e-mail and calendar. You and your collaborators can tailor this start page to make it most useful to each individual's needs. For example, on Jake's Landscaping's corporate start page, James, Jake, and all other employees can see what's coming up in their day, their new e-mail, the weather, and any other necessary information. Let's take a look at how to set up a corporate start page.

Customizing Your Color Scheme

As owner of the domain, you establish the basic look of the page. As discussed in Chapter 5, you want to establish a look that integrates well with your corporate image. If you have a specific color scheme, this is where you implement it. This is also where you design the basic layout of the page.

Follow these steps to customize your color scheme:

  1. Log into your domain and click the Start Page link to view the screen shown in Figure 6-1.

  2. Click the Customize link to view your options, as shown in Figure 6-2.
