2 Sound
There are five types of sound in TV journalism:1
- Sound from the pictures
- Voice-over narration (VO)
- Edited segments from interviews (SYNCS)
- Journalist to camera
- Music
- Room tone
Sound from pictures can be of two types: (1) the sound of objects such as doors slamming, dogs barking or feet walking on wet leaves. When not simultaneously recorded, such sounds can be edited from sound effects.
(2) People sounds recorded independently of interviews.
