Chapter 5. Internet Multicast and Multicast VPNs Based on MDLP In-Band Signaling

In this chapter, we take a look at an implementation which is purely based on MLDP both from a control plane and data plane perspective (An MVPN application uses PIM for VPN specific multicast information, however and this is the only exception). This implementation is based on the IETF draft “draft-wijnands-mpls-in-band-signalling-01”. It is to be noted that at the time of writing this book–the implementation only supported by Cisco based platforms.
