Metadata Processes
As discussed in Chapter 2, metadata are data about the data, and metadata processes are those processes through which metadata are developed and kept current. Whereas most managers are very familiar with their department’s operational and decision-making processes, they’ve less experience with the metadata processes. Thus, this appendix provides an overview of the three metadata processes recommended in this book.
