Rendering Settings

DOI: 10.1201/9781003144786-2

The rendering settings are mainly algorithms that calculate effects not displayed in the viewports due to their complexity. Contrary to the viewport display, a render has lighting, shadows, and all the materials are displayed with their attributes, i.e., with reflections, refraction, bump effects, etc. V-Ray has many rollouts with commands to control the rendering settings. This chapter focuses only on the settings that are vital to control the quality of the renders relative to the rendering time. It is important to understand what each setting does, otherwise, you might end up doing test renders for several hours.
