2.1    WHAT IS MATLAB AND SIMULINK?

MATLAB is a program for numerical computation. It is widely used for control systems analysis and design. There are many toolboxes available in MATLAB. But in in these sections, we will make extensive use of the Control Systems Toolbox. MATLAB is supported on Unix, Macintosh, and Windows environments. In this section, a brief introduction to MATLAB is given. Most functions and conventions are logical and easy to use for numerical computation.
