Chapter 2. The Generic Access Profile
Introduction
The Generic Access Profile establishes a level of basic functionality, abstracted from the core protocol components. In Figure 2-1, we illustrate the components that make up the core protocol, where at the upper-edge of the illustrated components, implementers would establish function primitives in the form of an Application Programming Interface (API). This exposed API would then allow implementers to realise their profile requirements. In turn, this ultimately would allow them to construct Bluetooth applications.
