Installing Apps from Unknown Sources
In general, you’ll need to enable third-party apps from the Settings menu before you can use alternative app markets (see Figure 14–1).
Follow these steps to do so:
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Tap Applications.
- Tap to check the box labeled Unknown sources.
Once you’ve enabled apps from unknown sources, you can download them from websites, get them as attachments in email, or transfer them to your tablet via USB. All these alternate methods are referred to as sideloading.
