Multilevel DC/AC inverters have various structures and many advantages. Unfortunately, most existing inverters contain too many components (independent and floating batteries and sources, diodes, capacitors, and switches) making production cost high and conversion efficiency low. We introduced four kinds of inverters: laddered multilevel DC/AC inverters, super-lift modulated inverters, switched capacitor multilevel DC/AC inverters, and switched inductor multilevel DC/AC inverters in Chapters 10,11,12,13 that are new developments in this area.
