Does climate change doom us? The science and numbers are stacked against us. We’ve known for a century that the climate is warming and that the rise in temperatures is speeding up because we’re emitting greenhouse gases (GHGs).1
We’re on our way to an increase of 4° Celsius by 2050 unless we significantly curb emissions—starting now.2 If we don’t, we’ll see even greater sea level rise,3 frightening climate-related weather events,4 mounting health problems,5 and more deaths.6
This is no longer abstraction: I’ve lived through three climate-related crises, including Hurricanes Sandy in New York City and Irene in upstate New York in autumn 2012, as well as the freak ice storm during the equivalent of summer ...
