On page 147, it says that "Excel for Windows defines the integer 0 as January 1,1900"
But I think that the integer Excel uses to represent (internally) this date is 1 and not 0. No date in Excel is defined as 0.
Furthermore, if what I think is correct then the next sentence
"so the integer 1000 represents 1,000 days after January 1, 1900." is also inaccurate (should be 999).

In addition, I would emphasize two more points (that I think, "deserve" being mentioned):
1. As far as I know, Excel does not recognize dates below 1/1/1900.
2. There's a "bug" in Excel, which refers to February 29,1900 as valid date, even though 1900 was not a leap year.

I think the label "You need to convert the rate and term..." should point to rows 3 and 4 of the spreadsheet, not rows 4 and 5.

The label "You've used COUNT, which counts based on one condition." should say (and point to) COUNTIF instead of COUNT. COUNTIF counts based on one condition. COUNT counts based on zero conditions.
