pages 82-85

Pages 82-85 cover "Cumulative Recording" and its great use in building a drum loop. What you fail to mention, is that unless you first go
Preferences > General and then check the second box marked "Cycle Recording," the "Cumulative Recording" feature will not work. Instead, you will just record multiple takes, which is useful, but not for building a drum loop.

There is also a lot of internet discussion about the difference between stopping your cumulative recording with the space bar versus the recording button, but I have just been using the record button.

While you are at it, you might want to take a look at Figure B-1 on page 230. I have Garageband version 4.1.2 (the one loaded on the new Macbook Pro) and the General box no longer looks like this. As I mentioned above, "Keyword Browsing" has been replaced with the aforementioned "Cycle Recording."

p.s. I've only read the first 89 pages, but so far I love the book (and I am a brand new mac user).

Figure 6-2

Figure 6-2 says to navigate to Sound in the System Preferences and specify which
sound source you want. The illustration shows iMac USB as an option. I have a G5 with
10.3.9 and do not have that tab as an option.

Also, the manual says to select the Audio/MIDI tab from GarageBand Preferences. The
only option available is Built-In Audio. I have GarageBand 2.02
