Step 3 of the "recipe"

Text says "Apply some Gaussian Blur to the Luminosity layer. Set an amount of 200-
250% with a radius of 1 and threshold of 0."

What the author is describing, and meant to say, is to apply Unsharp Mask. The
accompanying graphic of the layers palette shows that he meant Unsharp Mask.

So:
"Apply some Gaussian Blur to the Luminosity layer."
Should read:
"Apply the Unsharp Mask to the Luminosity layer."

"I'm certainly no Photoshop expert, and maybe that's why I really enjoyed this book. Blending is a subject where I have a lot of trouble, and this book did an excellent job of showing a "Before" picture, shows how to perform the specific blend, and then shows the "After" picture."
