Bio
David Romano is an instructor for the Perl series of courses at the O'Reilly School of Technology. He brings great depth and breadth of knowledge of several languages to OST. In addition to his Perl expertise, David is fluent in Bash, C/C++, Java, and even Latin.
His interest in languages lead him to earn his bachelor's degree in Linguistics from UC San Diego, where he also minored in both Latin and Electrical Engineering, and ultimately fell in love with Perl. David has extensive experience working with Perl, Java, and Javascript. He developed Perl-based parcel management software currently in use at UCSD. Most recently, he worked as a high school advanced math teacher, where he successfully implemented his own system of learning that in essence paralleled OST's Useractive approach.
When he's not exploring new languages, David dabbles in philosophy, soccer, and classical guitar. He also intends to read The Aenied in Latin and eventually visit all 50 states.
