Ken Burns is the founder and President of TinyCircuits, a startup company based in Akron Ohio, developing and manufacturing electronic modules for use in a wide variety of products. The initial product family was the TinyDuino - a miniature version of the popular Arduino embedded system, shrunk down to a form factor smaller than a quarter and built to be embedded into products. Launched on Kickstarter in the fall of 2012, the TinyDuino project was extremely successful, raising over 1000% of its goal amount. In a little over a year, TinyCircuits has grown into a profitable company by late 2013, currently employing seven people with plans to further expand in 2014.
Before TinyCircuits, Ken worked 10 years at AVID Technologies in Twinsburg, OH, a product development service company as a Senior Project Manager and Product Design Lead Engineer. Ken participated in the management and design of over fifty electronic products while at AVID, spanning across many market segments and customer types, from product startup companies to Fortune 500 clients, helping them design and bring electronic based products to market.
Ken graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron, and lives with his wife Katrina in Akron, Ohio.
