Corey Scobie is Vice President, Open Platform & Product Experience at Akamai Technologies where he leads strategy and delivery of Akamai’s command and control console (Luna Control Center) as well as the portfolio of customer and developer facing applications and APIs. Corey leads The Open Platform Initiative, which is an Akamai wide effort to simplify and expand access to Akamai’s core technologies, products and services using a developer driven and self-service approach. Corey joined the Akamai team in December 2012, after having been exposed to the company as a partner & customer while serving as Chief Strategist for Appliances and Application Optimization at IBM. Prior to joining Akamai, Corey held senior positions with Akana (previously SOA Software), IBM Corporation, DataPower Technologies (acquired by NYSE:IBM) and Orsus Solutions (acquired by NASDAQ:NICE). Corey has over 20 years of experience in Internet Technologies and has been involved in the API and Open Platform revolution amongst the world’s top web players and Fortune 500 companies for much of the past 15 years.
